Gas I the same problem took engine cover off 1st injector was leaking making a chuffing sound . Worth a look. Had injector fixed no more smell .

C270 cdi Hi I had my glow plugs done to day. While it was there I asked them to check pipes for splits. They couldn't find any but they did say turbo seal & muffler unit. Off turbo need Replacing would these parts cause black smoke & whistling noise ?

Glow plugs Hi I had the same thing start car glow light went out. Then came back on for about 1 min.took to The indi today had all five plugs changed There was only one faulty plug . But now no problem. So yes I would say u have at least One plug out. Cost me £173.00 including vat.
