    The Mercedes dashcam mystery

Here's an answer that I received from Mercedes, relating to my B250e Following your correspondence, we approached our Technical Team and they reported that the vehicle cannot manage more than one media source at a time. The way you have been operating is the only way to manage the USB drives...

    The Mercedes dashcam mystery

Hi, Well, I finally bit the bullet and "installed" the Mercedes dashcam in my 2013 B250e. I had some concerns about its use of USB ports...but it was no problem at all. I had two USB ports occupied, one for music and the other for dashcam videos (all in MP4 format). When the dashcam installed...

    Mercedes Dash Cam

Hi, Thanks for the information..I shall look into Nextbase. The Merc. Dash Cam does not even let you review screen info on the built-in screen..you need to take the memory stick and convert it for viewing. All in all, it looks like they wanted to max out the potential profit on having a camera...

    Reporting a software fault on a B250e

Well, Mercedes responded to my description of the problem by simply restating the problem and saying that the driver is responsible for the driving of the car. Pretty well what was expected. i am used to the feature now..which may make switching to other cars a bit tricky, at least at first...

    Mercedes Dash Cam

HI, I have finally got my head around the Mercedes Dash Cam offering for my B Class 250e. To say I was underwhelmed is an understatement. Tru it uses the built-in camera work..so no wires, etc, but for £200 you get what appears to be a very primitive system, which cannot even be viewed in the...

    Reporting a software fault on a B250e

Yes..and it is also making the car behind me aware...as I slow down to 15mph on the motorway! I am going to chase MB on this..it should at least be mentioned in the manual/guides.

    Reporting a software fault on a B250e

Hi, thanks for the analysis...coincidentally my car goes in for a software update today...a safety recall on steering problems and I hope to find someone able to discuss this feature that I "discovered". The most alarming part is when the car slows down on the motorway for no obvious reason...

    Reporting a software fault on a B250e

Hi, I have owned my 250e for about 6 months and I am still discovering "features" in the SatNav and Cruise logic. Here is something that I just found...it seems like a fault..but you tell me. Assume that you have set up SatNav for a journey and that you are using cruise control. At a point on...

Delayed charging on A Class e250

The transformer takes up to 10A on our 240V line. A standard plug takes up to 13A, as does a Tapo Alexa switch. So we have set schedule via Alexa and no problems at all The plug get slightly warm and that is about it. All because Mercedes are a bit dim on software usability!

I just sold my V8 E430.......to catch up on 20 years of development.

    B Class 250e Hybrid

Hi, Thanks for all the zero answers to my question. Was it so difficult? It seems that Mercedes is not addressing this issue seriously. Anyway, it turns out that the Mercedes charger consumes 10 amp, and is connected via a standard 13 amp socket, with a 13 amp fuse (here in the UK). It also...

    B Class 250e Hybrid

Hi, I just took delivery of a 2019 250e. We plan to use cheapo electricity..from 12.30 to 4.30 overnight (from Octopus) with the expectation that if the car is not fully charged by then, then good old petrol will be used for local driving. The problem is that we can't find a way of forcing the...

E430 Estate Boot stripping prior to welding

That's great.. just what I needed. Sadly, the welder has now said he doesn't want to touch it...after I did the stripping down, but another guy seems a bit more on the ball and will do it. I made it conditional on passing the MOT. I would hate to lose this car ...it has been great and I am only...

E430 Estate Boot stripping prior to welding

Hi, My E430 just passed 22 years age and to celebrate it decided to break the weld on a rear anti-roll bar. I have located a welder who will take this on but he says that he needs the area around the weld, on the inside, stripped to reduce damage when welding. Removal of seats is easy enough...

    2001 E430 Estate Shift Selector

Hi, #It didn't smell musty...but it seems the problem was that water got into the "sealed" shift unit and stayed there. We removed the board and dried/cleaned it but the damage was done. Anyway, a replacement shifter is coming today or tomorrow from Prestige Allparts LTD at...

    2001 E430 Estate Shift Selector

Hi, the part number is A2106270524 ...,but Mercedes no longer provide replacements. Can you recommend anyone who could supply this? George

    2001 E430 Estate Shift Selector

Thanks for the above advice. I have located one replacement so far, which is promising after just a few hours search. I have the part number and I think it safest to stay with that unless someone can confirm that all E-Class selectors are the same. My question is about installation. Does...

    2001 E430 Estate Shift Selector

Hi, This is a sad story. I left the sunroof open on a beautiful sunny day. Unfortunately, I was not there to see the cloudburst, resulting in the interior being soaked. The shift selector is locked, and all warning lights came on....To cut a long story short, the AA got me going again, but I...

    What is it.....?

Hi, Now that is a possibility. But we have no such substantial shelves. That is a very chunky piece of metal and its colour exactly matches the MB alloys! Still, I shall have to reconsider all the stuff we took to Oxfam a while back. Thanks for the suggestion. (PS, if you like Aurthery C...

    What is it.....?

A while ago I found a heavy-duty L-shaped alloy "thing" on the floor of the rear passenger area. The only clue is that it has "C. I." heavily engraved on it, and two small prongs (see photos). Thinking I would just slot it back I attempted and failed..over a month ago. I have to admit I have no...
