Anyone change parking sensors from the early type 2007 to the late 2011 on and they work ok?

Hi Is there any way of telling which sensor is faulty on a W210? Other than plugging into STAR.... I think its one of the rears thats gone as the error/bleep/red light warning only comes on when I engage reverse. I assume I have to take bumper off to change? Thanks. Mark.
