A two-fold question really: How feasible is it to do a full and proper upgrade from the standard air conditioning system to the Thermotronic on a 2006 C169 Avantgarde SE? If I only swap the control units, will I retain the functionality of the current standard a/c system?

I sat on thur in a c63 at my local dealer..has anyone meddled with the thermotronic unit..the dials..it is so cheap looking and feel ..turning the dials does not feel solid like the W203 or W211..not sure if this is the case for the newer lot of cars fitted with the new style thermotronic...

Just fitted the thermotronic unit. All seems to work ok - ish :D I tried to set it up by holding the demist / re-circulation so the lights flash alternately and it cycles through the vents. How long should this take or does it keep going because it needs the flaps normalizing by STAR ...
