    W203 c200k variator????

    Just had the car in the garage several times as every time you touch the throttle the car makes a gravelly vibrating noise from the front. Sounds a bit like a knackered bearing. The garage have quoted 600 and up to fix this. Anybody know any cheap fixes or had a similar problem.? It's a manual...

    i bought a 2001 c180 1998cc 111 engine just over 1 wk ago on the first day i heard a slight rattle so i took the car to a mercedes dealer who diagnosed the variator and quoted around £950 to replace i went back to the car sales who sold me the car and they agreed the noise gave me a courtesy...
