Hi everybody just got some 18 Amg alloys they are staggered 245 fronts and 275 rears can anyone recommend what tyres are best ie least road noise good wear and most importantly not an arm and a leg

Go for one of the so called 'Mid-range' brands...they are actually as good if not better than many top branded tyres for the money!!....manufacturers to look out for are Hankook, Kumho, Maxxis, Falken...there are more and i am sure people will be along with their own favourites.

Buy from the internet, using suppliers such as Camskill and Black circle (again, there are plenty more.

Check out this great site and read some of the many reviews...

Whenever put 'new' tyres on my Mercedes, I usually go for Kumhos or Continentals.

They have got contis on but the old owner said they only lasted about seven or eight thousand not good but will defo have a look at the others you mentioned

Contis are known for being quiet and can last quite some distance... but very much depends on your style of driving... Falkens are good mid range tyres for their prices...but the directional ones like FK452s tend to tramline towards the end of tyre life... so the ZE912s might be better...

He must have give it some hammer to only get 8k out of the fronts?

The fronts are still good just thought while they where off have four matching tyres on a bit funny like that like things to match

Kumho KU31's, have had extremely good results on a 209 CLK and on a w220 S500. No excessive road noise, wear well and good road holding in dry and wet.

Falken 452's mate, extremely pleased with them myself. Get about 20k out them and grip is good. I found them cheapest on Camskills at about £125 each. Thats for 245/45/r17 so price will probably be a bit different

Thanks murff been looking at the falkens fk452 think you just made my mind up for me thanks
