Hi folks new to this site/forummy mercedeshad developed an esr fault,any suggestions

Was ESR introduced as early as 1984? I don't recall it on my '87 500SL.
But what do I know?

I suspect it's a typo and they mean 1994 as by that point it was SL prefix rather than suffix.
Get the codes read otherwise you'll waste your time (and money) throwing parts at it - could be as simple as a broken ABS ring, could be a failed sensor, could be a dead module.
