I originally bought this car as a run around in 2007 but fell in love with the silky smooth straight six engine and decided to keep it. In my time of ownership I have replaced the front wings with brand new original Mercedes parts £££. Replaced the original cloth interior with the correct, period Mushroom Leather and simply enjoyed it.

I have regularly serviced the car myself. Always with quality oils and filters(oil and air) It has had new differential oil, brake fluid and coolant. I also upgraded the thermostat cover from the plastic type to the metal type at the same time. Also fitting a new thermostat.

The engine runs very well and pulls very strongly. It doesn't burn oil. It does however have the usual slight external oil leak from the cylinder head. It causes no problems to the running of the engine and as most M103 engined car owners will tell you, it is totally normal for this engine and can be left well alone without causing any problems whatsoever.

The gearbox changes fine, has nice clean oil and makes no horrible noises at all.

The differential is nice and quiet with only slight noise on the overrun and doesn't have much, if any play or backlash.

The brakes are all good and pull the car up strongly and in a straight line. All discs and pads have been changed in my ownership. The handbrake holds well and strongly on three clicks, as it should.

The car does need the tracking doing at the front. It had a new track rod end for its last MOT and they did't get it quite right. But apart from that, it drives lovely.

The bodywork, while not perfect, is certainly good for a 21 year old car that doesnt seem to have been garaged. There are a few bits that need touching in etc, of which I will post pictures. The front wings, I replaced with brand new origional Mercedes items.£££ The rear arches are rust free.

I'm not going to be silly and ask a stupid unrealistic price for the car. We all know just how lovely these cars are but have to be realistic when pricing and i'm taking into account the slight work the car will need. (tracking, bits of bodywork) I do hope i'm not putting people off but as I say, i'm just trying to be honest and realistic. It is a 21 year old car after all. It will make someone a very nice car as it is. But with just a little work will make a minter.

Some pictures for you.

Bump for the bargain of the year so far:D

Please don't let the sills put you off as they are solid. They simply need tidying up and painting. Which i will more than likely do myself and then bump up the price:p

I forgot to mention in the ad that i checked the compressions last year and it had around 175psi, give or take a few psi here and there, right across all six cylinders so this is a very healthy engine.

It also pulls like a horse and goes like stink when its **** is smacked:D

I am open to all sensible offers on this rare and iconic 190.:) Rarer that even the 2.3 and 2.5 16 valve models. Especially in this colour. :)
