I am selling my 1991 500 SL, please see a full thread of my journey with the car here.
My R129 500SL Progress
The car is based in Sutton, Surrey.
I am asking £8000 no offers.
I can provide full details.
Original service book with all Mercedes main dealer stamps for service history from new, the previous owner did some oil changes in between some of the dealer servicing also.
Just passed MOT without advisory and was just serviced by Mercedes Guildford.
New tyres all around, brakes have plenty of life remaining, engine and gearbox perform faultlessly.
All electrics inside the car including the roof work perfect.
Hard top with heated rear window and recently retrimmed suede roof lining in original colour.
I have owned the car since March this year and carried out a huge amount of work to ensure it is in very good reliable shape, ready to be used and enjoyed by a new owner. The car has a rare specification due to the exterior and interior colour combination, a scheme carried over from the R107 Mercedes SL’s. Pajett red exterior paintwork with matching lower trim, not the usual satin finish and Java leather interior. The car is a rare site and does seem to attract attention when out and about.
It performs perfectly, the engine is silky smooth and gearbox shifts without issue, brakes are more than capable and have lots of life remaining in the pads and discs. Tyres are only a few hundred miles old all around. Having just passed an MOT without advisory and a service by a Mercedes main dealer in Guildford, a new owner can have peace of mind that they can just enjoy this car.
The car has cruise control, remote central locking, electric seats with memory, electrically adjustable rear view mirror and steering column, electric exterior mirrors, CD player with electric aerial, electric windows with 1 touch function, centre arm rest and storage compartments in the rear.
1 remote key fob, 1 standard key.
