I just bought a well looked after C280 with the I6 engine for not much money, just to runabout town in a modern classic.
Anyway I failed to recognise the leak coming from what I think is the back of the gearbox unless the I6 engine really does go back this far (I've attached a picture to show where it's coming from i.e. quite far back from the front of the car).
The history says the car and gearbox were serviced in 2019 (5000 miles ago), although the substance seems more like oil because it doesnt smell or look like ATF.
This is my first time owning a Merc of any sort, especially an I6 engine, so any advice of what it might be would be really appreciated.
