1996 SL320 Timing chain cover leak/gasket.

I'd noticed a leak from this area sometime ago and tried a clean and sealant type fix to no avail, plus a fix article noted that it usually isn't the gasket but a poor interface generally see link.

Wondering where best to source said gasket or any further fix suggestions or tips.

Always done front cover seal to fix this fault. I would advise genuine parts. If you’re doing it yourself it’s a bit awkward to slide the timing cover back in without disturbing the new gasket.

Its a bit hit and miss. Even using a new gasket, MB sealant and new cover ours needed to be done 3x before it finally sealed properly. That was with a well respected Indie and not me doing the work
