Hi.

Currently the red brake exclamation light on the dash does not go off when the handbrake is released. Brakes working as they should along with handbrake and it's just passed mot. Not that the mot guarantees everything is ok lol.

Anyone got an idea what it could be? Is there a switch under the handbrake foot pedal? Or is it telling me brakes are low or fluid issue?

Thanks in advance.

If only I'd used the search button! Lol.

Possibly switch but also possible cable under rear seat needs adjusting.

Most likely to be the linkage under the rear seat needs lubricating. Also try to get some oil down the cables and work the pedal several times to get the oil inside the outer part of the cables.

Had the same problem with mine couple of years ago... simple fix.

I also sprayed the pedal mechanism and attached cables with GT85 lubricant. (Similar to WD40, but with PTFE). Place some cardboard or plastic sheeting under the pedal to protect the carpet from drips if you do this.
