Hi everyone, this is my 1st post having recently bought a 2007 B180 CDi SE Auto.
I'm afraid I have a few questions. I've come out of a Subaru Impreza with 270bhp so I'm finding the transition 'interesting' to say the least. Oh, the joys of becoming a father... Anyway.
I've noticed a few things that I've asked the trader to look at and wanted to run by other owners and people familiar with the car.
The first is a quite metallic rattle on start up when very cold which settles once the engine is warm, (perhaps a loose heatshield?).
Secondly is a slightly rough idle, this is regardless of engine temperature and sends a vibration through the cabin, this settles as soon as the engine rpms are raised slightly.
Lastly is a slight (and I do mean very slight to be fair) jerkiness in slow traffic, I've only ever driven manual cars before so this may just be a 'feature' of being in an auto and I imagine it's the 'box doing electronically what I would be doing with all three pedals in a manual to keep the car moving at less than idle speed in 1st gear.
I could just be reading too far into my switch from a big 2.5 litre boxer engine to a pokey diesel too much but want to be sure I'm not glossing over issues that need attention before the dealers 30 day guarantee expires.
Thanks in advance for your time, Andy.
