Hi all

This ball joint need replaced. Obviously it's a lower ball joint but is it an inner or an outer?

Have a look for Lemforder on Autodoc app (cheaper than the website )
Thanks. Had a look. Their postage makes them pretty much the same price as my local eurocarparts, albeit the eurocarparts item is Optimal and not Lemforder but it'll do just fine and I can get them tomorrow. I'm replacing both sides.

Waste of time buying the unknown cheap brands of suspension components from the likes of euro and gsf. You'll be replacing them again before long. You'd be much better off paying a bit more for the Lemforders imho.

Optimal are German and have TÜV SÜD certification. Apparently that's a 'thing'.

Have they not got the Trw one in stock. Tbh the job is pretty labour intensive, you wanna be replacing it with a decent brand .

I had never heard of them so out of interest I looked them up. They "source" their parts "from around the globe". No manufacturing as far as I could see, just a HQ address in Germany; I guess that is to instill confidence in the quality. I have no idea any more - even Lemforder parts are made in China.

Is Optimal not a decent brand? I don't know.
Never heard of them tbh, price difference seems to be around £6 to that of Trw and lemforder. Go for it :)

Have you bought the press to get them in and out ??

A lot of aftermarket/cheap car part brands have very German sounding names not always reflective of where they are made or sourced from.

Marketing in simple terms.

If you’re saving on the labour by DIY’ing the repair I would stick to genuine parts or OE, as said it’s not worth the hassle for parts of unknown quality.

I won't be doing the work. My mechanic has everything he needs.
Argh ok. I misread the part when you said "I,m replacing both sides. " . No further help required then 😂

lol ... perhaps my mistake. I should've said 'I'm having both sides replaced'. My mechanic friend is a stock car builder. Very capable guy and he has a fully fitted garage.
