2011 Mercedes E Class Convertible 350D
I was just about to sell my E 350d 2011 convertible and started getting this message. Went to a local independent dealer today who ran a diagnostic on it and confirmed that the seat sensor pad was faulty. The part i need is 2078700610 but apparently Mercedes have discontinued it. Seems to be some emulator things on ebay but seems a bit dodgy. Want to get the car sold asap anyone got any ideas on what options i may (or may not) have?

Could something like this be an option
cheap enough to try it ??

It's a very common fault (I had it replaced on both my W203 and my W204). I can't believe that MB no longer make the part. I would try another indie, or a dealer. The part you are looking for is called Front Passenger Seat Occupancy Sensor, or 'sensor mat' for short. Good luck.

Apparently they contacted a Mercedes garage for parts and they said it’s bo longer available. I can’t find any parts online anywhere for it so it must be true but will try a few others tomorrow just to be sure

Pardon my ignorance but what do I do with this? Plug it in to the points under the seat where the existing wires are?

When you find out let me know  . I’m sure someone will have used them and I would also guess your MB Indy would know .
If you can look at your failed emulator and it’s connections the solution may be there ?
