2011 ML300 Parking Sensors

Hi guys. My rear parking sensors have stopped working, when I engage reverse gear, I get 2 solid red lights and the beep which then switches off after a few seconds. Front sensors work fine.
I'm told that it's likely to be 1 sensor not working. Are they easy to remove? Or do I have to take the bumper off to remove them??

Yes, most likely a sensor or maybe more than one. Best get it checked on STAR which will show what ones are faulty. I had to replace 2 front ones on the ML and STAR showed the defective ones. I replaced them with non MB ones at £10 each and they have worked perfectly.

ML Parking Sensors

As above, they are cheap on ebay and you could buy a handful for less than the dealer would charge you to replace one.

I have a Delphy diagnostic scanner and it shows the parking sensors in actual distance from the wall terms, which I was very impressed with.

Two had gone at the fromnt of mine, but the whole system was bleeping and refusing to work.

You will have to remove the bumpers to get access ( really, a 2-man job, or one man if you're desperate)
