hi all

I'm looking for info for my 2012 sprinter .
It goes into limp mode when going up hill. I get fault code P226300 The boost pressure deviates from the specified value.

I've seen various suggestions online and quite a bit of discussion about the inlet manifold. Is the inlet manifold on these sprinters a common fault ?

Thanks

Vince

Hi, yes the inlet is a very common fault. But it also could be a vacuum fault.
There’s a T piece on the main vacuum line which blocks up and causes a lack of vacuum.

Hi Marc
Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me where that T piece is so I can give it a clean up.
Do you know what goes wrong with the inlet manifold and how to diagnose it for sure ?

Cheers

Vin

The main vacuum line from the servo, follow that across to the n/s and it will go into a t piece. Remove the rubber hose off the t piece and Run a very small drill bit down it but be careful not to go right through
I hope this picture helps.

Regards to the inlet failing, the second bottom bolt in from the front of the engine snaps in the cylinder head. I’ve done 100s of them.

Or you could have a faulty transducer, or a boost leaks from else where

Always check the easiest first, yes the "T" piece on the vacuum tube that goes from the brake booster to the vacuum pump has a history of blocking, I have found this a few times over the years, why it blocks beats me, it looks like it has some sort of brown build up at this "T".
I have always tested this "T" and it has never been completely blocked but very restricted. This "T" provides vacuum to all the of the engines devices that are controlled by vacuum. So easy to do and won't cost you much. Be aware that the vacuum hose is some times very hard to get off the "T" , maybe it is glued at the factory?? Suggest cutting the hose carefully to get it off and replacing with a new hose, of course the two ends are different sizes so you will need to get and straight adaptor piece to prevent leaks. If this is your issue, doing this properly , eg no leaks, it will change the way the vehicle drives
This of course is assuming everything else on the engine is functioning as designed. Easy to do.
