Hi after some advice ref fault code P010129 MAF sensor issue.

Car wont rev above 2500rpm and then brings on EML light. Once on is then staying on every trip, however when cleared it goes into limp mode before EML back on.

Work for Ford and today they replaced the MAF with a Hella one part no HEL8ET 358 095 311 which was around £100 and meant to be OEM spec. Issue still the same, felt like in limp mode then EML back on on way home.

I know dirt cheap Chinese MAFs off Ebay can be an issue but would have though Hella and being OEM would be fairly safe bet?

Any ideas or what else could be the issue or need to check?

Had AA out on Saturday and they could see a regen had been completed 100 miles earlier so assume not DPF issues.

Thanks

The ECU adaptations for maf needs to be carried out . Then clear faults , all should be well after.

Eml comes on after 5 or 6 same faults .

Thanks for the reply much appreciated.

Will a generic tool carry this out or does it need to be full Merc spec?

Do I need the new MAF sensor as well? IF Hella are half decent for sake of £100 can always stay on. The diags and fitting were done of the books anyway......allegedly :D

Im sure the workshop has a fairly new generic tool where we can pay a fee to access other manufacturers full diagnostic features etc. Either that or the company we got the tool off then clear issues remotely.

You could try I suppose. Until it's done the car still sees the old one I assume?

I know one lad tried allsorts with his , he ended up seeing a mb indy who reset it , cured his issues immediately.

Air mass adaption isn't unique to MB. Even newer Fords have it, so your guys should be aware of it and the reset routine.

Worth doing before you replace the sensor as that fault can occur if you have a leak or a clogged filter. An Adaption value is learnt to compensate, you the fix the leak or change the filter, that corrected value jumps up and hits a limit. You have to tell the ECU to reset that adaption value.

I've seen the reset routine on an the Autel and icarsoft, so imagine it's on the other tools too.

Thanks for the replies, they defo have Autel tools so fingers crossed.
