2014 E400 Convertible Family car?

Hi,

I'm looking at a E400 Convertible as a car for myself and 2 kids 8 & 6 by the time the company c350e goes back.

Just 2 questions:

1. Has anyone fitted a towbar on the rear of an E Class convertible for bikes?
2. I'm 6.0ft, not looked at one yet so is the rear leg room anything like the C Class.

I have the Saloon C350e and the boot is compromised. I'm hoping the E400 is not that much worse.

Here you go ... E Class Cab bike carrying options....

Big mountain bike in bike-bag on back seat (wheels in the boot)

and

Tow-bar mounted bike rack. Did 1000's of miles in my old 350 Cab across France & Spain with the bike on the rack - also looks cool!

I must get a tow-bar for the E500. About £500 fitted and coded for a removable one from NWTowbars in Stockport.

Leg room is pretty slim in the back - OK for kids though. Boot is OK with the hood up. I've had a full size bike in bits in the boot with the hood up. I did have to pretty much strip it right down though.

The only restrictions I had placed on me when looking for something a bit less sensible were, not a 2 seater and it had to be reasonably practical. E Class Cab and a towbar - sorted!
