2015 ML350 Aux Ports

Hi all,

Nearly got me a ML350 and doing some research. I assume that I can mirror my mobile phone onto the screen? Want to use the map app Waze. Is that via Bluetooth or the centre console? I see that there is a USB and another connector there. Does the lead come with the car that fits into the square port?

i wouldn't assume anything with MB audio...

What unit is fitted in the ML you are looking at ? Audio 20, Audio 50 or Command or other?

I'm not aware of any "mirroring" function on MB audio but others will no doubt confirm / correct me

It has the " COMAND Online System - Hard Disk Drive Navigation with 3D Map Display ".

I don’t think you’ll be able to do it without replacing the head unit or adding a clever box of tricks, like an Apple CarPlay or Android Auto box.

If you 2015 car has COMAND Online, then it will also have the Universal Media Interface (UMi). This allows for iPhone integration, but not screen mirroring. So you can control the music on your iPhone using the COMAND buttons and wheel, but you won't be able to see Waze on the COMAND display.

Support for Apple CarPlay (and Android Auto) was introduced by MB much later.

As Bobby Dazzler said, you can either replace the COMAND display with a 12.5" Android unit, or you could fit additional hardware that will add Apple CarPlay to your system.
