Really sorry to hear of your problems, did the car have these issues from the start?
I took delivery of a fully loaded E400 Coupe 3 weeks ago and just come from a BMW 640d and cannot praise this car enough.
Yes it’s early days, but I’m very pleased so far, no issues and feel the build quality is as good as my 6 Series.
My only disappointment, was finding out the dash top and door card tops are Artico (read vynyl) after shelling out £1695 for the nappa leather option.

Hope they sort it for you soon so that you can begin to enjoy the car

The artico dash comes standard on all of them, whether you go for nappa or not. At least it’s only visual and not part you’re actually sat on. I guess in that respect, real leather would be unnecessary

It’s only a small gripe really, my 6 Series had nappa leather everywhere, but the interior of the new E Class is far superior imo.

Well guys, the update on my creaking/knocking/rattling car is as follows:

THE CAR IS NOW SILENT!!!!

Mercedes had the car for three days during which they completely removed the entire panoramic roof mechanism/glass etc and they lubricated and put back every nut bolt and mechanism to strict torqued limits - and it has completely cured the problem!!! I'm soooooo pleased - the car actually now feels so much better ( I know it's probably psychological) but it feels like a different car - like it should have been all along. The quiet ride is fantastic and I'm starting to really love driving it - even taking longer routes to places as its soooo nice!
