2018 SLC - still under warranty - 14k miles - Intermittently the passenger window drops 2 inches after the roof raised. Stevenage MB garage can not replicate, but the issue has been caught on video numerous occasions [cant load video - sorry]. MB Garage states they have replaced the door control module, I however advised [the very next day] that the problems remains [with video evidence] - no response from MB garage for more than six weeks until I chased them again - poor service tops off this experience!

Any thoughts

Do you mean the window drops to allow the roof to raise, then the window rises to the normal shut position, but then drops 2 inches down and stays there ?
Even when it is shut manually does it drop down 2 inches ?

Presumably the dealer tried the window reset procedure?

Why didn't you just book it back in for them to have another look?

Booked backed in for next week - but getting a 'don't really care' vibe from the MB garage - it has been booked in four times already [longest time at MB garage 2 weeks] - maybe because I wasn't happy at being ignored for more than 6 weeks!

As the roof raises, the windows are approx 2 inches below normal closed position - as the roof operation completes the window fully closes - at the same time the finger comes off the roof operation button, the passenger window drops 2 inches. The window fully closes when the window button is use to close it normally - does this help in place of a video of the issue?

Might be a roof alignment issue triggering the antitrap feature on the window.

Park it across the entrance to dealers workshop until they fix it....

Sounds like the anti trap feature, mine has done that a few times but always cured with a reset. Do you have the engine running when you operate the roof ?

If it is still under warranty just make sure you have documented evidence of exactly when you reported it and their responses. That way you can pursue the claim even after the warranty has expired because they didn't fix it when reported to them.

Interesting post thanks, two points to to examine\enquire about 1] what way can I document what exactly they do? other than testing and changing the door control module - they don't provide any information (I could ask for a copy of the 'job card'???) 2] Claim from whom and on what basis?

1) Always put it in writing - date/time. You do not need to decide how or what they need to fix it. That is their job. You just need to explain what you perceive the problem to be and be clear that the item is not fit for purpose.
Ask for their analysis of the problem or the work completed in writing. If they fix it (it may only be temporary), if it is not fixed or you are not confident it is fixed then records of what was done is important. Note any failures to provide this.

2) Any issue under warranty is a warranty claim against the manufacturer not the dealer even though they are the agents who carry out the work.

2a) When it goes tits up you then have a documented trail of everything you did as a customer to attempt to get the issue fixed - if you need to escalate to MBUK, the ombudsman or take them to court you will be pleased you kept good documentary evidence of the timeline, it makes your case stronger.

Hi all just managed to publish a video of this issue...
