2018 SLC Passenger window drops when roof raised, MB can't replicate or fix the intermittent problem...

1) Always put it in writing - date/time. You do not need to decide how or what they need to fix it. That is their job. You just need to explain what you perceive the problem to be and be clear that the item is not fit for purpose.
Ask for their analysis of the problem or the work completed in writing. If they fix it (it may only be temporary), if it is not fixed or you are not confident it is fixed then records of what was done is important. Note any failures to provide this.

2) Any issue under warranty is a warranty claim against the manufacturer not the dealer even though they are the agents who carry out the work.

2a) When it goes tits up you then have a documented trail of everything you did as a customer to attempt to get the issue fixed - if you need to escalate to MBUK, the ombudsman or take them to court you will be pleased you kept good documentary evidence of the timeline, it makes your case stronger.
Thanks Larkone good info...

Can you operate the roof using the key or remote? Not sure if it is an option on yours but it would eliminate the switch. Just thinking if there may be a separate contact in the main switch which operates the window drop, which is stuck/shorted and causes a repeat operation of the window when the switch is released.

Thank for the comment - good thought but... no, no 'smartkey' function for this car doh!

Found this on an American forum, this was after everyone had tried the reset method.

Had this exact issue with my 2015 E550 coupe.
Here is the description of the issue :

With Left Front window fully up, when the Left Rear window commanded fully up, it will go full up >> then it went down by 2 inches when the window switch released.
I have to keep repeating the "UP" command 3 times and the Left Rear window finally stays fully UP.
Also noted, the Left Rear window doesn't do the 2" roll down when the door is opened.

I tried the suggested window reset method, after stubborn four time attempts, all windows works normally . . . . until the next morning, the issue came back.
I ordered the P/N 2079004400 Desc : Rear Quarter Window Regulator (USED) from Pacific Motors. Price : $49.99 Delivered in 2 days.
Mercedes MRSP varies at around $350.

This part is located in the trunk, Left side behind the carpeting. Only need to remove one plastic button holding the carpeting and with a flashlight, it is easily accessible with one hand.
Remove the two connectors > remove the regulator > install the regulator > install the two connectors > do the window reset procedure > OK,

FYI, I decided to disect the defective regulator apart. No visible damage or corrosion or anything defective noticed. The two connectors were clean.

Another FYI, this regulator failed at 3(three) days after the car warranty EXPIRED. Go figure !
The dealer asked me if I want a diagnostic for $184 ++ and the part cost. Obviously, that didn't happen.

I hope this helps you guys.

Just come back from picking up the 2018 SLC from MB Stevenage - they spent the day 'working on it' in a dry, level, warm environment no replication of the problem but as soon as I got back into the real world and drove approx 3 miles and raised the roof in the drizzle - guest what - the passenger window dropped again - see attached video -
