Hi,

I've just bought a nice 220SB  with a French MOT  , but it requires the Track Rods replacing. What I'd like to know is if there are any good Fintail parts suppliers in the UK?

I see there are loads in the Land of the Hamburger, not sure about Germany yet - will try that next.

Thanx in advance

Try Mervyn Wright at Jacksons of Poole.

"Please contact Mervyn Wright about your requirements on 01202 641855 or by email at [email protected]"

I dont mean to divert members away but a really good resource for you would be the Mercedes Benz Owners Club... their resources for older MB's are second to none.

Tie rod assembly (one per side, assembled with both inner and outer T/rod ends. Preferred option)
£22.00 each.

Tie rod ends sold seperately £8 each.

VIN required and details of old ones, Left or R/h Thread or one of each?

All available. (from me!! in the UK)

Kind regards

Derek .

Oh , and be wary of buying parts from suppliers in the USA : apart from shipping charges , there are a lot of differences in spec between USA cars and the rest of the world - these guys will usually supply US spec parts .

No worries Pontoneer, these are new parts by the way and used on much later vehicles so not as rare as you think.

Indeed , many parts for 1950's and 1960's models were superceded by much later part numbers and are readily available from any dealer - if they can be bothered to look them up ! Anything but rare at all !

Thanks for all the replies but, since franey in very close to me at The DN9 Airport, I think I will go with him.

Cheers

Hi, really useful thread for me guys, thank you, especially Pontoneer's list and Franey's supplies. I'd also love to chat to TwinCarb as his engine is similar to mine - from what I gather, there were only 100 or so W111 230s sold in the Uk so I'm finding common groun a bit hard. As a new member, I can't message any one direct until I've 30 posts. Anyone know if I can publish my own [email protected] email address in a message so I can get a message back with contact details? Many thanks, Roger
