R107 300 SL
Hi, I recently bought a 1987 300SL and noticed quite soon my left foot had no where to rest and my leg was going numb. Does anyone know if these cars came with a foot rest or if there is one available?
Any help much appreciated.

It is a while since I sold my 107 but if I remember there was an angled shelf to rest your left foot on but I thought it was part of floor, could be wrong though.

My car auto is your car manual? Do not think MB would make a different floor pan to suit a manual to clear clutch pedal

Very unusual to find a manual 300SL in this country although they were offered on the continent.

There should be a footrest. In fact it’s a carved lump of wood covered by the carpet and held by one large screw to the floor pan. Check for a self-tapper hole and that will confirm it.

Sounds like the designers made a mistake not designing into the floor pan and used a bit of wood to cover their mistake:(

Thanks, I managed to get a footrest on ebay, it is like a piece of wood and fitted it however when I replace the original carpet it folds over it and you would barely know its there and my foot slides off.

Would anyone have any photos how their carpet is fitted around the footrest?
