Hi guys sorry to make my first post a question but needs must im afraid.

I have a 2000 X reg Mercedes 320 CDI estate.

It was leaking majorly from rear injector due to somebody ruining the thread and bodging it up. It has now been drilled and helicoiled to a very high standard and is working fine.

Although the car does have another problem.

Once i depress the accelerator to the floor for the first time it will not rev above 3000 rpm. If i just rev to 4500 for instance it will rev to taht fine but as soon as i go further its a no go. also i had 1 malfunction twice, Its esp error or something like that, Elec power control or something.

the car smokes a little when it goes into this sort of mode. Injector 3 is leaking slightly but not enough to cause a major problem. It drives perfectly it just does not want to go above 3000rpm.

I have seen other people post about this but no answers, I really dont want to take the car to mercs as they are gonna give me a big bill no doubt.

It must be sensor related, the car is going to go on a machine sat hopefully, will that tell me exactly whats wrong?

Has anyone else ever helicoiled the injector bolt.

Also in the car the fans are on constantly when i plug the control box in, no matter what i do even when the car is off.

Any ideas

Thanks guys

What nobody can help me?

The garages code reader would not read the car so it looks like im going to have to go to mercs.

I dont think anyone here knows where to even begin in trying to help, from your description it sounds like it has been well 'tampered' with and the car really needs to be physically looked at by someone competant in Mercs.

Take it to a Merc independant mechanic, otherwise i suspect it is going to be a very expensive repair.

Regarding the cabin fan.....sounds like the control unit is u/s.

I agree you are just second-guessing the problem without a proper Star reading to determine the fault, or faults. Cheap solutions won't always solve the problems, especially electronic ones on a modern car.

Sorry for being ignorant, but do you have a turbo? Had a similar problem with a turbo diesel and it the problem was that the inlet pipe to the turbo was not connected properly and was crushing together and restricting air flow on acceleration. Clipped pipe back in and presto, full power.
