3rd Brake light on SLK171 200

Hi Im trying to gain access to the 3rd backlight in my slk 171 to inspect it I have an intermittent fault were it will stop working I have the cover off but the boot lock mechanism appears to be in the way do I need to remove it please any help appreciated

I tried to do this. Like you I couldn't work out how to do it. It was a very easy job on the 209. Anyway i got my trusty Indie to do the job. Took about 20 minutes max.
