After having been given a new E220d as a week long loaner I've decided I'd quite like one. I currently have a remapped c350cdi and really enjoy the engine, so would look for one similar in my new car.
I've just been reading (or try to) a 159 page German forum thread on a serious oil pump issue with the new 350 and 400 diesel engines which can result in a £10k+ repair bill.
Since I would probably buy a 2/3 year old car it would soon be out of warranty so I was just wondering if anyone knows what the latest news is in the UK with these engines? Has some kind of recall been issued? Very interested to hear people's thoughts and experiences before I part with a reasonable amount of cash. Many thanks, M
