I noticed today that if I power up the car without starting (press start without foot on brake), I get scary warnings about “48 V battery See owners manual”. I don’t think that was happening until today. Owners manual just says to consult a specialist workshop. If I just hit ok the message disappears.

If I actually start the engine and drive the car all is well, and no warnings, at least not yet.

It’s an approved used C200 that I bought quite recently, but still has a few weeks left of original new warranty.

Hi, I have been looking for a way to open a shelf company in Switzerland from the UK for a long time and this service helped me with that. I was able to find out a lot of useful information about business in Switzerland, and so if you also want to open a shelf company, you can find a lot of useful information on this site!
That does sound a bit concerning, but since the message disappears after you start the engine and everything runs fine, it might just be a temporary sensor glitch. Still, with the car being under warranty, I’d definitely recommend getting it checked out while you’re covered—especially anything related to the 48V system. Better safe than sorry, and they’ll likely run a quick diagnostic for peace of mind.

Thanks, pretty much my own thinking.

In any case, even if nothing bad happens before end of new-car warranty period, logging the initial problem within warranty puts me in quite a strong negotiating position.

The car is of course covered for a year by the Mercedes Benz used car warranty. That’s a great warranty in a really posh looking booklet but unfortunately, when you read the small print, it excludes almost everything. :)
