Hi guys

Currently got a ml63 bi turbo in warranty

I'm after a bit more poke if it's possible?

Does anyone know what a remap would get the car to?

Obviously I don't want warranty issues if it was to go into MB

I was quoted £2500 plus vat ?!?! BHP up to 620 and 655 torque.
Would that not damage the car?

I had my M157 running considerably north of 700bhp and so do a number of members on hear. I ran mine for 18months of hard use and no issues.

Who quoted that! I assume that is the 5.5 Biturbo engine?

If you can wait until 18th Sept, Acid at MSL has some good offers on.

One member is currently running around 750bhp and a lot more torque on his biturbo after MSL worked on the car. It has been very reliable in the two years since.
The basic remap on the 5.5 is around 700bhp.

That seems an excessive amount for a map, and looking at the site of the people you mentioned elsewhere it's not a custom map but one they've acquired from somewhere.

As suggested above, get yourself down to MSL on the weekend 17/18 September and have it done properly, including before and after dyno runs, and for a lot less than you've been quoted.

The only thing that would damage is your judgement, and your wallet!

Who quotes £2500 for a remap!

If you don't want warranty issues then you need to go the second ecu route. I say this because unless things ha e the changed the ecu unit needs to be opened up to be remapped and this, never mind diagnostic results, will alert the servicing garage to the fact that the car hashed mapped. Acid at MSL can help you go down this route and for less than the number you have been quoted

You'll get approx 700bhp and if you change the downpipes you'll be nearer 730-750.

Actually even the second ecu route means that the old one has to be opened up as well but given mercedes offer reconditioned units now but not allowing for the fact all sorts of ID are required to order one, it would be difficult if the worst happened for Mercedes to say it was the map if the unit still has the original one on it

I have to say I've run over 700 bhp on 2 biturbo with no issues though

Do the MAP, Downpipes and air filter. The rear section exhaust on that truck is very free flowing, just change out the front pipes for the most gain.
