722.9 problem - specialist needed Mid Wales / West Midlands

Hello,
I've got an odd problem with my 2012 C220CDI with the 722.9 gearbox changing gear really harshly but intermittently. There is a U0101 code, but the diagnostic still communicates with the TCU, and it works fine after 5 or 6 miles. I think what I need is someone who really understands this kind of fault - normally I fix everything myself but this I suspect is beyond my facilities. My suspicion is that it's a fault with the TCU.

I'm in rural mid-Wales but I'm not expecting anyone here obviously. Shropshire / West Midlands is the easiest to get to (unless there's one in north Wales). I've heard about Andy Gayle - is he good at this kind of stuff? Anyone else? North West is possible too.

Depending on how far you are willing to travel, Nick Webster in Poynton is a top man to deal with. He has done work on my car and his team are very well trained on Mercedes. P:rices are very reasonable and loan cars are available.

Thanks for this, it's only about half an hour further away than Smethwick so definitely practical. Has he done any gearbox work on your car?

Yes they did a gearbox service and torque convertor flush for me. You will not get much better than Nick when it comes to attention to detail.
