Has anyone had experience of having their gearbox remapped or flashed?

Was there much of a difference?

Was it worth getting done?

who did/supplied it?

I personally would like quicker shifts and less slip.

Made no difference on my W204 to be honest.

I had my car mapped by a mercedes mapping specialist (quite well known on this forum but forgot their name), I remember asking them about this and they mentioned that the car usually learns how you drive, sometimes its worth resetting the gearbox and having it re-learn your driving style as when I reset the transmission on my w204 I did notice the gear changes were more faster and better especially after having my car mapped.

I hear what your saying and I have carried this or several times I think it makes a difference at first but always reverts back to hanging onto gears(particularly in cold weather - I understand why) and slow shifts.

I had the software on my 7G+ transmission updated by MB Brooklands via STAR, but it was a genuine software update (not remapped).

They are rather sluggish gearboxes. Old school tech. I haven't had mine mapped either

It’s because it doesn’t reset anything. It just fools the car into thinking you had just driven with your foot to the floor for 10 seconds, and adapts accordingly. When you then drive it normally it adapts back to that.

7G+ Is this the same gearbox that is fitted to C63?

No - research ……….
Essentially the same gearbox but with AMG speedshift MCT or TCT instead of conventional torque converter.

Best ones I've heard about is from
mkultraelectronics.com in the US but that's only for the 5G .

I did hear about John at Big Fish Tuning working on a gearbox tune for a 7G+

I had a package done so ecu remap and gearbox map - car was faster but the shifts were essentially the same
