I'm on the hunt for a new (to me) car and my searches all seem to end up at a C Class.

Specifically I spotted a C-Class 2.0 C350e 6.4kWh Sport Estate, 2016 with 106k on the clock. I've never owned a hybrid before though have driven one a little. Are there any points I should look out for? How would I know if the battery is in reasonable condition?

No idea about the battery, I'm afraid, but I recall lots of stories on the forums a few years ago about C350e starter motors failing quite regularly. Not heard anything about this for a while, though. I don't know if Mercedes managed to fix the problem or if it is just no longer newsworthy.

Also, this is a well known case:

The issue with Mercedes Benz is that the HV battery warranty is short compared to other manufacturers who typically provide a warranty from 8 to 15 years.

Obviously, a second-hand battery from a breakers yard will be much cheaper.

But even so, I suggest purchasing from a dealer or trader with 1 year warranty that also covers the HV battery.
