98' ML320 Parktronic system

Hi,

The ML320 I don't know if it should of come as standard but mine doesn't have the parking sensor system (at least no sensors on front or back)

How easy are they to acquire and get wired in. Does it need to connect to any other systems in the car? I.e. Engine management or anything.

I'm usually pretty good with electronics, cabling and vehicle wiring etc. so doing the job should be ok just need a little info really.

I've had a quick look at the company and yes the kits there do look good and reasonable.

I was after the original parktronic system that the MB ML320 would of come with though. I have already got a camera system in place and my own version of ultrasonic sensors just wanted the original kit really?

Mercedes of that era used to supply quick parc as an accessory retrofit. These were made by Bosch and were uber reliable metal sensors.

These days most manufacturers (including Mercedes-Benz) now supply their quick parc kits that are re-branded Cobra parking sensors (The difference being the loom which now includes a Y harness made with genuine Mercedes connectors.

The Cobra fit (park master) items can be purchased at bargain prices, there is now even an OEM look flush fit sensor and these look very nice indeed.

below is how they look once fitted. (your bumper cover will have + marks indicating where to drill)

Retro fitting the Original MB one is a complete ball ache and a massive cost.

Interesting I'll Have a look into these then they do like like they were made to be there in that pic. Hopefully they do a full front and back kit
