Hi guys,
My 2000, 139,700 miles A-Class is putting me through the ringer.
It went in to find a noise, which turned out to be a fuel injector seal, unfortunately this cooked the injector, which then stuffed the #1 valve.

It's currently in the garage having the head taken off, so i'll most likely get the chain etc done while the head is off.

Should this have happend at what in merc terms should be a relatively low millege? Is it worth writting to MB and having a grumble?

Any thoughts, suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated.

Han

139,700 low miles for a 1.7 CDi engine??

Yes they will go on for a long time if looked after but they are not indestructible!

also i think the recommended interval for injector and seal renewal is 100K... were they done?

The injectors and seals were not done at 100k, however when asking mercedes dealers as to weather the chain and injectors need doing at any point, i was repeatedly told no.

It may be worth a call to MB but is really just a failure. It isn't a catastrophic failure of the engine just a problem.

Bit of bad luck there.
