Hi, Own a 2013 A Class A180 petrol. Recently had a injector replaced - after 2 weeks, a new fault code appeared P2616. At times the car loses power and does not accelerate. The fault does not occur immediately, I could be driving for a day or two without issues.
I have cleared the code several times but keeps returning and have replaced both cam sensors and cabling looks good.
In the end, I went to the same authorised garage that replaced the injector and they carried out a full diagnostic and the report reads:

P217800 The mixture (cylinder bank 1) is too rich in partial load operation
P261612 The output signal for the position of the camshaft has a short circuit to positive. There is a short circuit to positive.

Any ideas of what it could be?

Could still faulty though, unfortunately.
Could the replaced injector be at fault (it was reconditioned part) ?
Theory is that injector could leaking, it may cause P217800 which in turn triggers P261612 ?
I forgot to mention I can smell fuel in the car when the fan is running after the injector was changed.

Was the injector coded in properly?

I don't know if the injector was coded in. A Mercedes Approved garage replaced it. They have recently ran a Xentry report, which only flagged the two errors I mentioned.

If they are Mercedes approved they are a main dealer. They need to spend some more time diagnosing it.

Has the wiring been tested if the cam sensor is new? Was the cam sensor a genuine MB/Renault part?

Hi, I noted the cam sensor did not have the Bosch stamp on it but only the correct part number, though it came in a Bosch box. Since then, I picked up another, which has the Bosch mark, its not from Mercedes but at least it has Bosh marking. Will replace and update thread.
