A-class
Hi

I have a 2004 auto A-class. When I pull off, it judders quite bad and struggles to get going. Any help/advice as to what this is?

Thanks

Probably the first gear is cracked. It will eventually (soon) fail.

Forrera in Hammersmith London can rebuild your autobox give them a call 0208 7414510.
Mention that you are a forum member.

Maybe if you move the switch near the gear-lever to “W” you can avoid first gear (w is winter and you pull away in second)

Once you are moving in next gear does it become ‘normal’?
If it still does it, it could be a drive shaft issue.

It does drive normal once it gets going, it only happens when I pull off.

Thanks for the replies.

Probably the gear1 drum, it’s a known issue, they crack.

Switch to W for the time being, car pulls away in second, so it will be a slower start- give yourself space.

The fix is £900 ish for a rebuild, but then it will be ok for years to come. Could be worth it if the rest of the car is good.
