Hello all.

I'm new to the Mercedes world and have recently got a new A35. One issue I have is that it's quite noisy when moving over rough roads and speed bumps, especially noticeable when travelling at very slow speeds.

The noise is sort of a "knocking" but hard to describe and it appears to be coming from the rear nearside wheel area, whenever that wheel passes over the bump.

Any ideas what this could be? Common problem with the A35 or is this a normal "characteristic" of this car?

I've got it booked in at my local dealership to be looked at in a couple of weeks but don't want to waste my and their time if this is normal for the car.

Cheers.

I'd get it booked in and have it checked over, mine doesn't knock so it isn't a characteristic of the car.

Sorry for delayed response. The dealership had a look at it and said it was due to the heat shield being a bit loose, so they tightened it. Hasn't made any difference lol.

I have no faith with dealerships, bet they didn't even drive it!
