I hated the original A class shape. It was a horrid car to look at.

The latest A class may look "generic", but that's because the masses like cars that look like that.

Mercedes want to sell to the masses.
 
1st and 2nd gen had no sex appeal whats so ever.
 
The original A Class was a sad embarrassment to the range.

A cheap rubbish car sold to people so they can say "I've got a Mercedes".

The new one actually looks smart. A young lad would be very proud to own one.

The way a car, or anything else for that matter looks, is a totally personal thing.

Ones mans trash is another mans treasure so to speak.

If the masses were asked, I think the consensus would be that the new A class is head and shoulders above the original, in every way possible.
 
The original A class always reminds me of the original Audi A2... neither had anything near appeal IMHO!
