Hi Guys,

New to the world of AMG having just bought mine this month. Have to say that I am very happy with it.
I do have one issue that does concern me though. Sometimes under quick acceleration I get a hard kick where the power drops off. This only happens for a second but you can really feel it in the car.

Some more information:
I managed to reproduce this today. I was going around 30/40 mph then planted my foot to accelerate (While in S on auto) The car took off for a bit then kicked hard. This was enough time before the gear change so I know it was not just shifting up. I then looped around the round about and did the same again but this time it was on a little lower RPM.
The car is a 2013 model. I never get this kick when I am in Manual

The car temp was:
Oil: 80/90c
Water: 80/90c
Gearbox: 50/55c

Does anyone know what this might be?

@rOckyC63 Tried resetting the gear box and haven't had a kick since. Fingers crossed a reset was all that was needed.
It is worth noting the gearbox was a little warmer this time at 63c

I think give it try in the morning when cold.

Not Owned my A45 very long, only thing I've noticed is pulling away at a junction there's a slight delay and then a bit of a kick even when trying to pull away slowly, that's in comfort I don't know if same thing???? Ok under hard accelerating.

@Revo I haven't noticed mine doing that but I have had a dual clutch for a while now and and fairly used to it. You have one before your a45?

It might be worth checking if you have all the software updates on the gearbox. I presume it's pulling away in 2nd gear?

Any issues since?

Haven't had a chance to test it out yet. Should have some time tomorrow night so will give it a go then

Gave it a go last Saturday and seems to be ok now. Going to keep an eye on though

A common problem and one that can be frightening with the delay, especially pulling away from a junction and then the kick. Mine does it, though, better after a replacement (warranty) gearbox which was replaced for another reason. I perform the throttle reset every 1-2 weeks and it alleviates the problem you're experiencing in Comfort mode.

Ah just had it happen again to me. Seem again the gear box was around 52C so wondering if the lower temperature has something to do with it.

Yeah just managed it again. Gear box was around the 54C mark. It was after a kickdown if that makes any difference.

I think ask if there is any updates for the box.

I got the dealer to check and there are no software updates.
I have found someone with the same problem on another forum though and they have managed to capture the problem on video.

I've watch the video over and over That sounds like its hitting a rev limiter, even though I can see its not, my car has never done that! If it did I couldn't live with that!!!

Mine doesn't do it quite as bad as that and id inconsistent as to when it does it but yeah something that needs to get sorted.

Faulty rev limiter kicking in too early?
