abc pump

I was going up a car part red light on dash saying abc drive carefully and suspension will not go up or down.took it to a mechanic says no faults coming up just low pressure is the pump the only thing that will do that

Nothing leaking in the engine bay or any evidence of fluid at the front of the engine on the passenger side, shine a torch in there?

Looks like there is some damp at front

Sounds like the pump then. I'll be honest, if there are company's doing it out there for £250 you would be better off going with them. It would cost me £150 just for parts and then there's postage etc on top of this as well as the fact that I can't guarantee my work, it's only a hobby. Also we would have to wait for the parts to come from the USA and I wouldn't be able to get it done quickly with how things are at home at the moment!

As I understood it, the cause of ABC pumps' declining output pressure is due to wear on the cylinder walls and the pump bearings. I don't understand how replacing the o-rings (which is what most of these refurbishers seem to do) would solve those issues.

There aren't any bearings in the pump :thumb:

Me mate fitting the new pump when I get it anything we should no when changing it

Fill the reservoir with oil and turn the pulley afew times before you start the car up so it has oil in the pump (a bit like a manual prime) it's hard to turn it though!

Good luck, it's fiddly but not that hard to do, if I were you I'd change the fluid ASAP after changing the pump!

just a couple off things people are saying if not bled right will damage pump is that right and some people saying it has to go on rodeo to set it up is that right.or is it change pump prime it then just run it

Yea make sure you bleed it as running it dry will damage it. You don't need to rodeo it, just lower and raise the ride height around 20 times

whats best way to bleed sorry to be a pest just want to make sure we ready before we do it

We poured some directly into the pump where one of the lines goes in and turned the pulley by hand, wasn't easy and made a massive mess but it worked!!!!!

Edit: this probably isn't the right or best way to do it but mine has been fine for a while after doing it like this!

Good luck with it, when you take the reservoir out a couple of wheel bolts will fit it the pipes nicely so that you don't spill fluid everywhere!

cheer so its pump of pump on prie start it run it then bleed it then suspension up down 20 times
