I have only had my SL55 a little while and at first drove it every day or every other day with no probslems.

Been away and with one thing aother haven't driven it for 10 days. I get in this morning and it tells me ABC too low - don't drive.

I have pressed the raise/lower button and the error has gone. It seems fine now. No fluid on garage floor, it's bone dry.

So what gives? Is this normal or do I need to get ready for a nasty bill?

I would think you have a minor leak allowing the car to settle over a duration.

Yes, but it's interesting I can find no fluid on the garage floor.

That said I did a bit of reading on MBWorld and several posts there with people experiencing the same thing. Dealers over in the US seem to suggest it's not exactly normal, but not indicative of a major problem as long as it doesn't do it within 24 hours of being parked.

Wll keep a very close eye on it and if it gets worse or more frequent will have it looked at. Best to take no chances with the ABC from what I read.

It must be an internal leak back at the valve body, allowing fluid back to the reservoir.

Not worth bothering about.

I used to leave my CL55AMG for 31 days at a time - due to work.
Always gave me the same warning, up and down a few times and no more warning until two months later and repeat.
Never any evidence on the garage floor to see.
After gleaning info from the many mentions here, just put it down to what Diesel man has said above - a leak back to the reservoir.
I never noticed any deteriation in handling.

Had same on my airmatic, rear strut was shot and had a small leak in it
If the car gives an error it has to be leaking some where

If you have parked the car on a uneven surface, then that can flag up the warning light :thumb:

Mine does the same thing. Parked for a few days and the front is noticably lower than rear.

Press the up button once and almost immediately, the front begins to raise and the warning disappears.

No fluids on garage floor. From what I read here though, it wouldn't hurt to be prepared for a nasty bill. If not from the ABC, then something else :)

Oh don't say that LOL! Aside from the roof and the ABC what else might kill me?
