for the last couple of days I have been experiencing an intermittent warning light on my W204 C220 cdi estate saying to consult owners handbook and the run flat inoperative and have the ABS and traction control warning lights on I suspect it is sensor but would a sensor be intermittent. the first time it came on I was driving and I keyed off when I reached my destination and it never came on again for the rest of my subsequent journey, then when I turned the ignition on when I was coming home the warning lights appeared as soon as I keyed on and stayed on while driving then went off on there own, then this morning they did the same again until I keyed off when I reached my destination then never came back on for the rest of the day.i have it booked in for MOT on Friday at my local dealer who is going to look at the fault as I have extended warranty. does it sound like a sensor or something else like a module ?

Could well be a low battery , try charging it o give the car a good run

I hope they fix it as it will fail the MOT with ABS light on. Or , if you are lucky it stays off during the MOT test.

Please let us know how you get on . Best of luck.

the battery is only about 2 years old and the stop start works ok the ECO symbol goes green nearly straight away, bit more of an update so yesterday and today the warning lights came on as soon as I put the ignition on I started the car and the lights stayed on ( with the warning lights on the ECO symbol disappears) if I stop the engine and restart the warning lights go out but will return while driving. after I reach my destination I key off and when I restart the car the lights go out but the brakes feel awful the ABS feels like it is kicking in when gently braking then the warning lights come back on I am thinking it is a bit more than just a sensor any more ideas from anybody, I really hope they can find fault and its covered under the extended warranty, if there is no light on will there be a stored code ?

I think its more serious than just a sensor as when the light is off the brakes feel very intermittent and the ABS kicks in on gentle braking but not every time

I find it odd that you are getting ABS sensations from the pedal . The systems are usually 'fail safe' ie: any electronic braking interference/assistance failure will switch ABS (etc) off and leave you with a light/message on the dash and a basic , but fully functioning , non ABS braking system.

It could be a mechanical problem in the ABS valve body. I certainly hope you get it sorted soon. Please keep us informed.

just an update I took the car for MOT and diagnostic check the light came on during the journey to the dealer they carried out the diagnostic first but the light had gone out there were stored codes for o/s/f wheel speed sensor they advised getting them changed in pairs I enquired about the extended warranty they carried out the MOT while the light was out and it passed with flying colours quite chuffed for an 11 year old car they carried out a complimentary health check which was all in green apart from the ABS sensor, warranty will pay for the failed sensor but not the other one which I can understand so only having the failed one replaced in a couple of weeks ( they didn't have the one I need in stock) been driving around all day and the light hasn't come on at all since the MOT. god knows how much the sensors are as the price on the health check to replace them both was £780 so fingers crossed it is just the sensor

No way does it cost nearly 800 quid!!
My indi specialist replaced the osf abs sensor on my S204 in Feb 2020.
The genuine MB sensor was £57.50 and the total bill came to £166 including the VAT; that included the £50 STAR diagnostic and £30 to fit the part.

I bought a pattern sensor for mine from EBay only £25. They are easy to fit, usually 1 x 10mm bolt to to remove then plug in.
You don’t have to replace both, the other ones could last another 10 years.
