Hi,

I'm getting an intermittent error "ACTIVE CURVE SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONING". Its been in and looked at, but the dealership didn't appear to know what the cause was.

Car has only done 7000 miles from new.

Anyone else seen this error?

Cheers

The 'good' thing is the car is under warranty so let the dealer worry about it.
Presumably the dealer used STAR/Xentry to read for any error codes?

Yep - went to main dealer and they did some other stuff, but they said that they couldn't see anything definitive causing the error on active curve system. Few days after it came back the error happened again. Comes up and stays on dash for the entire drive, then when you restart engine it goes away again....

Was the error displaying when the dealer had it?
Even if not there should be error codes stored.
Try a different dealer?

The dealer probably did spot the fault, however, as it is not current they will have cleared it as the system is working.

Take it back to them and say the error came back, they should be able to see the stored fault again. I think the headlight module is intermittently faulty, it will need a new module to fully go away.

I have a similar issue with my distronic module. Intermittent fault which last until I turn off the car and restart. The fault in STAR diagnostic points to the module. I will either live with it or replace the module.

Your reference to headlights - that confused me considerably when we bought the car because I remember there used to be an active cornering system option on the CLK for the headlights to move when you go round corners. Active Curve System however is related to the suspension - equivalent of Porche PDCC.

But yes - I think it might have to go back for another look :(

Oh I didn't know it was related to suspension.

I have active curve headlights (moves to steering input), that's why I mentioned headlights lights lol.

As it's a safety related function I'd be insisting they get it sorted..

It is a suspension system to keep the body level.
