Hi all, I have a 63 plate panel vito that I'd like to remove the bulkhead and add 2 or 3 seats into the rear. It's either this or get rid.

I'm sure I've read that this is no easy task but can't find where I read it. Does anyone have experience of this and can It be done without spending a fortune? I also have available a 59 plate pre face-lift model that I could swap with if that's any different but I imagine the chassis is the same?

Any help appreciated

Hi , would suggest you check to see if removing the bulk head you will remove the structural integrity of the van.

Insurance can be an issue.

There's a thread that everyone uses that Zenman63 & myself were on gives a guide on how to fit the seats in the back.

Thanks both, im not worried structurally as tge vans come with the bulkhead as an option.

I'll try and find that thread, sounds like may be more time consuming than I was hoping

I remember the thread Bu Un is talking of, I believe it would be 4 years ago or possibly more. Zenman moved away from the 639 some time ago.

I seem to remember there was excellent guidance.
It talked of providing plates below the top floor skin to bolt into.
Some vans had indents from factory to show where to drill, others apparently not. That was if the MB floor rails were to be used.

Then there is certification for compliance, and insurance might well decide if it isn't listed in the VIN code you can't have it anyway.

My personal view is that it may be overly problematic.
Dualiners have 3 rear seats as a bench, but no rails.
Traveliners 'can' have rails that accommodate 2 rows of rear seats. that could take 2 bench seats.
Vianos have the rails.
But you likely know the last bit.
