Hi all,

Hopefully you can help me , can anyone with access to the EPC tell me if the bootlid on a w124 saloon is the same part as the bootlid on a w124 coupe ?

It's not - the saloon rises higher from the sides. That's why when they facelifted the series, the coupes had to make do with their own lid with a plastic infill round the no plate.
Shows up clearly on pages 57 & 59 of April Merc Enthusiast.

124 750 23 75 with no holes



above for coupe
below for saloon (all years the same btw)

124 750 06 75 replaced by
124 750 07 75

124 750 22 75 no holes

so no - they arn't

Haven't compared them side-by-side, but Sp!ke bought a spoiler for his coupe and it didn't fit. See this thread.

Edit:- no responses when I started typing, #4 when I posted.
Maybe I should type faster.

I have found a perfect , no rust or dents , exact same colour bootlid to replace mine which i dented on the second day of owning the car in tescos car park but its off a b***dy saloon .......

Nightmare .... .i'm off to the pub !
