Advice on thisCLK please...

The 240 is the least desired engine in the CLK. Only marginally quicker than a 200k but drinks fuel similar to a 320. For that reason a 240 usually costs less than the others (even less than a 200k) If you can afford it find a 320.

Car will be doing 100 miles per day. Nice workhorse huh :-) for the Mrs to go back and fro from work.

Just needed a nice low mileage example to avoid massive depreciation.

Think I'm pretty happy

That's a great find, missed that one totally and looked through several times tuh

Anyhow, the bloke selling the one I looked at will drop his price significantly ! He knows he over priced it.
All going to plan I'll collect it Friday Woo hoo. Happy days :-)
Many thanks again guys

Craig

Good to hear! welcome to the world of the CLK owners! put some pics up when you get her home

I think you will love it. The facelift CLK is generally a good reliable car and a great place to be.
The convertible adds an extra dimension and is a great summer cruiser.

Congratulations!!

100 miles a day is quite a lot for a V6 petrol(fuel costs for 24,000 miles a year?) i get about 18-22mpg with average driving and roads; no motorway miles-(thats what my CLS CDi is for). It will be a fun car to have-especially when the suns out and the roofs down in the summer!

The depreciation argument is a little flawed, it is a 10 year old car that has since been replaced by other models plus you are planning to put around 24,000 miles a year on it so the mileage in 3 years time will no longer be seen as low mileage.

As has been said, the 240 is not as sought after as the 320, it is around 50hp down on the 320 and has a significantly lower torque figure with similar fuel consumption but it is a very smooth and quiet engine

If you are both happy with the car for other reasons then of course all of that is fine and I hope you enjoy it:thumb:

My 350 does similar mpg so you will have to fill up every 3 days or so. It looks a lovely motor but I have to say it, a 270d may have been a better bet but that meant you would end up with a coupe, but you could have a sun roof.
If your sure the £100 a week fuel bill is for you then that's OK and enjoy, I always wanted one in Jasper blue, very nice.

It had to be a soft top...

Yup, no problems at all paying for a fuel bill. She has been doing the same trip for 12 years now.

She could sure afford a new 40 grand car, but with the added depreciation over 3 years with doing such mileage, just doesn't make sense to me. Rather have 4 trips abroad every year :-)

Well you have made a good choice then, and your be looking forward to the summer with that roof down feel like me.
Consider a wind blocker which makes a big difference at speed. I will be looking for a oe used one in the spring.

Use the "Contact us" button and ask the admin team if they will release your pm privilege early, they are very helpful:thumb:

Decided to pick her up this afternoon. Hope dark pics are allowed :-)

Must say I'm very very impressed the way it drives. Plus feels plenty fast enough....

Delighted :-)
