Apologies guys i slightly got confused i misread one of the earlier comments in re to brake fluids. i thought it wasnt included in the service plan. I will call on monday to see if they can apply the 20% off!

Reread the Sticky FAQ:

As stated above, everything in terms of parts and labour that is scheduled to be carried out at each service during the life of the plan, including the Recommended Additional Items. This means that items that are planned to be replaced on a time or mileage interval as part of the manufacturer’s recommended service schedule, e.g. engine oil, gearbox oil, filters, spark plugs, etc. are included but it does not include wear parts such as brake pads, brake discs, or parts that have failed (unless they are a scheduled service item in their own right) replacement of which will be subject to an additional charge.

That makes sense!!!! Thanks
You’ve got it. In the seven services my C350 has had under Service Plans, all I’ve paid for was a set of windscreen wipers. I’ve had 12 new plugs, a gearbox oil change, several gallons of engine oil, lots of brake fluid, numerous filters, and windscreen wash additive. Not a penny extra charged. To my mind it was good value without any discount.

This subject is covered continuously on here with the same advice given out time and time again. I am amazed that people cannot work out themselves what is more beneficial between, a service plan, service by independent specialists or paying for a service when it’s due, including all the variances of what’s need by time/mileage.
The thing is, everyone's circumstances are different, and having it explained to those unsure can often help decide which way to go.
There will always be owners wanting to keep FMBSH and unsure whether a service plan is the way to go or not.

I guess because it's a lot of information, it can become quite over whelming so forums like these help people like me to lean on other peers and their experiences. Sometimes all you need is a little bit of guidance, which today has definitely been helpful/insightful. Thank you to everyone who took the time to reply to me.

Call another dealer... or just call MB Brooklands.

It does not matter which dealer you purchase the plan from, it's valid at any MB dealer in the country.

Will try other dealers but ive spoken to two different people who have said the offer was not extended. Funnily enough i was corresponding with an agent over email during sept and she didnt mention a discount at all!

Spoken to MB Brooklands and they are saying no too....is there other dealer that someone could recommend that has been successful in getting that 20%?

20% discount for upfront payment was on line only. it was not available from dealers

I stand corrected.

Looks like the OP will have to wait until the 20% discount offer is showing online?

The issue i have im 15 days over my service (although there is a 28 day grace period in terms of taking a service plan). But generally when i have spoken to a MB Dealer they all have mentioned its an online discount!

Sounds like Indy time then :D

The Service Care Plan was very competitive even before the cash discount... so it is still worth comparing the cost of the next 2/3/4 services before deciding either way.

But, of course, it no longer makes sense to pay upfront, unless you have your own reasons for wanting to do so.

Agreed. I only pay up front if there’s an incentive to do so. If the cost is the same then I would prefer to pay closer to the lint of consumption. However for a 20% saving it was worth paying up front.

So it sounds like there may not be an wxtension

Surely as your car is out of warranty and over 4 years old, its time to use a good Indy ? They would do the job equally as good at a better rate.
Most of the simple inspection items you can do yourself or wait for the MOT to tell you anything thats wearing, tyres, discs, pads etc.
Air, oil and pollen filters are so easy to change yourself , oil and transmission fluids more specialised but doddle for your Indy.
Bearing in mind your car is good for 200,000 miles and isn't that engine used in commercial vans ?
The only brand new car I bought was a Honda Civic Type R, it was fully serviced by main dealer, polished and Supagard treated inside and out, wheels unmarked and low mileage, it looked new. When I came to trade it in for my first Merc the salesman didn't even look at it, lost about £5,000 on it, cars are the easiest way of losing money.

What many on here do (myself included), is get all scheduled servicing done at the dealer under the Service Care Plan, and get everything else done by a trusted Indie.

But there are owners that like to keep a full main dealer service history and there are also private buyers who look for that history.
It's horses for courses with servicing. What may suit one owner may not suit another.

Still think the right colour, sensible mileage, service records (receipts) and well kept condition will still sell better and be more cost effective than overpriced full dealer service history on a 5 or 6 year old motor. I remember taking my BMW to Frank Sytner for a service, they wanted £100 plus vat extra to change the coolant, I declined, unless you are keeping the car for ever i think your better off using a Indie as you never get your money back.
