E55k AMG Sold / S211 E320 CDI I6 sold W212 E63 6.2 N/A saloon. S212 e250 cdi .
I would like to fit my Forgestar F14 wheels I had on my w211 E55K to the E63 w212 6.3 I currently have.

wheel sizes as follows

:265/35 18 18x9.5 j

:245/40 18 18x8.5 j

I'll be totally honest I don't have a clue with working out the chart above with offsets and the like. I would just like to know if the above wheel sizes will fit my W212 E63 6.3. My Forgestar F14 wheels as if not I would look to sell them on.

Cheers Tom

I know what you mean in terms of ascertaining if wheels will be compatible on other vehicles, some websites supposedly knowledgeable can be difficult to interpret.

Firstly you need to know the offset of the wheels you have and the offset of the wheels for the new vehicle. It should be stamped on the inner face of the wheels and have a figRue of something like "ET35" , if they are the same or very close then that is one potential issue solved.

The tyre sizes you quote are irrelevant for the purposes of your question

You also need to know if the Pitch Circle Diameter is the same for both vehicles. This is the diameter of a circle passing through the centre of the wheel bolt holes. Also; it is important that the wheel bolts are compatible for the hubs you wish to fit the wheels to, I think MB changed wheel bolt length, shoulder type, thread pitch etc on some models

There are lots of tyre / wheel comparison charts on line and there is a sticky on the Forum in the wheel and tyres section which may help.

All mercs are 5x112 with a centre bore of 66 mm . Seeing as they are aftermarket they will have spigot rings . Your only concern i think would be the offsets. Try going to an online alloy wheel website and compare w211 to w212 wheels and tyre sizes. My father put 212 on his 211 and the wheels sit into the arch about 1 cm . Id imagine on yours theyd sit out by 1cm. Best bet is to try fitting a front wheel and see whats what.

I would say they would, but as stated above, you need to know the offset (ET) of each wheel (the current ones fitted and the FS ones, front & rear, as these will be different too).

It all really is as simple as punching those numbers into the drop down menus below and the information is provided to you. There is nothing for you to work out.

Custom rims, wheel tire packages

If you are still struggling Tom, post up the ET of the FS wheels and then do all the same for your current ones fitted and I will have look for you. You can PM if you wish.

The correct ET for a W212 E63 with 18" alloys is Front ET37 and Rear ET52.
The correct ET for an W211 E55 with 18"alloys is Front ET31 and Rear ET39

You need to check the inside spokes of your Forgestar wheels for the ET Tom.
Remember that every number below the recommended number moves the wheel out toward the wheel arch by 1mm ( eg-: Recommended ET 52, wheel fitted ET 39 would move the wheel 13mm closer to the wheel arch)
The numbers work in the opposite direction if they are higher than the recommended ET, in which case, you can sometimes use a hubcentric spacer to move the wheel away from the caliper/suspension arm.

The only real test is to try one front and one rear, seeing you already have the wheels;)

Really appreciate the info you guys have provided. I went out to where I store my car bits give them a little cleaning but for the life of me I can't get or find this ET code with numbers. I have checkd all three wheels. The two front and one rear. On the inside of the hub there are numbers and digits and weight numbers but no ET then a code. Not on any of the spokes.

On one part of the hub there is an E then a code of 4PE 195 then a T above the digits the ET letters are not together.

On the other front wheel is the same but different digits i;e 49E 164.

I was told they should be on one of the spokes of the actual wheel not the on the hub:wallbash:

Very confusing I have to say.

I really appreciate your great advise guys but I think I'm going to have to resort to taking a front off and seeing how my other wheels fit.

I'll report back once I find some progress.

Again the advice is much appreciated.

Thanks Tom

To add to your confusion Tom, they can also be on the hub and may not have the letters ET before them, can also be a single digit but very rarely.

Heres some pics of the rear of my Vossens, the ET is within a circle beneath the wheel dimensions, on the rear of the hub face! Don't give up, you are almost there! ;)

Nope won't allow. Back to the drawing board :D:wallbash:

Not that it matters I wouldn't have thought. But the original AMG wheels I have on the w212 now are 19" which are run flats. The tyres on my FS wheels are not and are 18"inch . I imagine the 18inch to ride better than the 19inch runflat tyres.

The ride on run flats is horrible IMO, once you change to non RF, it will be improved, let alone reducing the wheel diameter, which will increase tyre profile, which in turn will give a more comfortable ride!

We really need to see pics of all the numbers on the back of the wheels as Abb has said. I struggle uploading pics too but managed it when I put my car up for sale (well for a couple of days before I took it off sale again!!). Following courtesy of top man Roger (AMGeed). Basically change the size of the photos.

Posting photos held on your PC isn't too difficult.
First off, make sure the photos aren't too high quality or large. Stick to 1280x720 and the forum will upload it.

I managed it and I'm useless!

Just had a look at forgestar website and unfortunately can't get any relevant info from there as they are built to various specs. I could prob work offsets out for you if you took some measurements from back face of rims to back face of hubs.
