My 2007 CLS 320 has air conditioning switch blinking red light 3 times and then nothing. So I went to ATS, they carried out pressure test, flush and recharge. Pressure is good. Still blinking. I will take to garage for diagnostic test on Tuesday. What are the chances of diagnosis finding the problem ? Is it more likely to be mechanical problem. I have seldom used AC over past 7 years, can anybody tell me location of compressor, I find it hard to identify under a rather busy bonnet.

The blinking light is "low pressure". Since the system hs been pressurised, it will be a failute of the pressure sernsor.

It might be this. And if it is this, it's easy to check with a diagnostic scanner to confirm the ac pressure is reading zero before any money is thrown at parts.

If it does turn out to be the pressure switch, also be prepared for it to be corroded together with the lower aircon pipe and the condenser, meaning the pressure switch can't be removed without damaging all three. This happened to me on my E350. It depends how corroded the thread is.

....Oh and , once fixed remember to keep your AC running ALL of the time.
